How We Raise Money

Events That Fund Our Organization

The generous volunteers and community of Rabun County have supported special events throughout the year for the Sid Weber Cancer Memorial Fund of Rabun County, Georgia. Some of the major events include the "Fun Foursomes" golf tournament, held at the Sky Valley course, and a July 4th celebration and barbecue.

These vital events, along with private donations, help provide the necessary funds to support Rabun County patients and families. It is every citizen's responsibility to see to it that those afflicted with cancer are given a helping hand. Less than 10% of the dollars collected goes toward expenses for the fund. Over 90% of the funds assist patients with non-medical expenses. In the time frame from 2006 to 2011, the fund has disbursed over $300,000 to cancer patients of Rabun County. We are proud to have helped an average of 50 patients per year.
